KIA Niro: Front Door Module | Front Door Outside Handle

Front Door Module Components and components location

  1. Front door module

Replacement

  1. Remove the front door trim.

    (Refer to Front Door - "Front Door Trim")

  2. Disconnect the front door main connector (A).

  1. Disconnect the outside rear view mirror connector (A).

  1. Separate the rear door module (A) after loosening the mounting bolts.

Tightening torque : 8.8 - 13.7 N*m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf*m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb*ft)

  1. Remove the front door module (A) after disconnecting the front door latch connector (B).

  1. Disconnect the connectors and front door module wiring harness (A).

  1. Remove the front speaker.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "Speakers")

  2. Remove the front power window motor.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "Power Window Motor")

  3. Remove the side impact sensor.

    (Refer to Restraint - "Side Impact Sensor")

  4. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Warning

  • Apply enough grease onto the whole parts.
  • Make sure that connectors are connected properly and each rod is connected securely.
  • Make sure that the door locks/unlocks and opens/closes properly.

Front Door Outside Handle

  1. Front door outside handle

Replacement

  1. Remove the front door module.

    (Refer to Front Door - "Front Door Module")

  2. Remove the plug hole cap (A) and then loosen the bolt.

Tightening torque : 3.4 - 5.7 N*m (0.4 - 0.6 kgf*m, 2.9 - 4.3 lb*ft)

  1. Remove the door lock assembly (A).

  1. Disconnect the front door outside handle connector (A).

  1. Remove the front door outside handle (A) by sliding it rearward.

  1. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Warning

  • Be sure to install the outside handle pad (A) between the outside handle and the door panel. Make sure that the connector is connected properly.
  • Make sure that the connector is connected properly.
  • Make sure that the door locks/unlocks and opens/closes properly.
